Engineering & STEM awareness

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity and exposure are not. We bring engineering experiences, role models and clear information about STEM pathways to young people, especially in rural and underserved communities.

Pupils in a busy classroom raise their hands to answer a question.

How can a child imagine becoming a robotics engineer without ever seeing a robot?

Exposure changes what young people believe is possible. When children meet engineers, handle real tools and understand the routes into STEM, engineering stops being a distant idea and becomes a choice they can make.

EFA aims to make that exposure ordinary, starting in Techiman and reaching more communities across Ghana.

Our five-part approach

Each step builds on the last, from a first spark of interest to a path a young person can follow.

  1. Step 1

    Explore

Interactive engineering demonstrations and career discovery.

  2. Step 2

    Build

Practical activities using accessible, locally available materials.

  3. Step 3

    Connect

Meet engineers, scientists, university students and mentors.

  4. Step 4

    Navigate

Guidance on SHS programs, technical education, university, scholarships and STEM careers.

  5. Step 5

    Grow

Follow-up clubs, mentorship, competitions and learning opportunities as they develop.

Bringing engineering to communities

Planned delivery formats
  • School roadshows
  • Community engineering days
  • STEM clubs
  • Camps
  • Virtual engineer sessions
  • University exposure

Schools and partners can ask about hosting or sponsoring activities.
